Great news! GrabPix, the app I wrote to download pictures either embedded or attached to messages from an Outlook.com inbox, is finally available on the app store. To install it, you just have to open the Store app on your Windows 10 phone or desktop and search for “GrabPix”.
Here are the features I added since the previous update:
- Support for Windows 10 Mobile. This is big, as I designed the original version to only run on Windows 10 desktop. Adding support for phones expands the number of devices the app can be deployed to.
- Users can now select how many messages to download from their Outlook.com inbox. I hard-coded this value to 150 messages in the first version of the app and people could not change it. Now there’s a dropdown selector with three pre-defined values: 100, 250 and 500 messages.
I might need to change the values in future versions, but I will wait to receive user feedback to decide on the changes.
- Added feedback button. The button allows users to send me feedback about the app. Internally, it launches the Feedback Hub app, as recommended by Microsoft. The app takes care of submitting the feedback and providing it through the app store administration end.
I’m paying attention to the usage statistics report on the store. There have been a few downloads so far and no crashes reported. I will wait one or two weeks to have more downloads and hopefully feedback from the users that will guide me on what changes I need to make to the app.
Help Me Test It
