This article shows you how to configure and use ExtJS One-to-One Associations. A real-life example of this association happens in workplaces, between employees and managers, where an employee usually has only one direct manager.
We will use this scenario to create the sample ExtJS application that renders a list of employees and their respective managers. We will also create the server-side code that pulls the employees and managers records from a MySQL database. . The sample database we will use is the ClassicModels database.
We will use an ASP.NET Web API project for the server side. If you aren’t a .NET fan, you can easily translate the code to your favorite backend programming language. I will also post a PHP-based backend for this app in my next ExtJS article.
